The Vizio M420NV

The Vizio M420NV is a very decent TV for those on a budget as you can now pick one up for around $750 if you are prepared to shop around, that’s pretty good value for a 42″ HD flat-panel television.

Click Here To Get The Best Deal On Vizio M420NV

With the now standard 1080p screen, the viewing experience is exactly what you would expect from HDTV, in this sense the Vizio Razor M420NV does nothing new or revolutionary, just exactly what it promises to do, and it does it well.

Features of the Vizio M420NV

Many budget TVs suffer from various problems which the Vizio M420NV avoids, whether it’s low refresh rate, durability issues, or a slow input response time. In other words, don’t expect this television to blow your socks off if you have already owned an HDTV, but it won’t let you down. For under eight hundred dollars for a 42-inch, the price is certainly right.

Refresh Rate

The refresh rate is an impressive 120 Mhz with a 6.5 millisecond response time, whilst this may not be as high as the top of the range higher priced televisions, it’s fast enough to mean that there’s no blurring of the picture during fast moving action sequences. The color is also spot-on, with over a billion colors the image is represented exactly as the cinematographer intended, again this is often an issue with budget televisions which sometimes look very different with colors looking unnatural.

The Viewing Angle

Where this television does excel is it’s viewing angle. The viewing angle is not only good for a budget TV but even when compared to some of the more higher priced televisions. Often when watching a flat screen HDTV, when sitting at an angle the screen can look dark and lose a lot of the color, sometimes you get the same effect as looking at a photograph film negative. With it’s one-hundred-and-seventy-eight degree viewing angle, the Vizio M420NV manages to maintain it’s picture quality even at harsh angles, meaning everyone in the room can enjoy the picture without having to huddle together like sardines in a can.

SRS TruSurround HD Sound

The audio is decent with SRS TruSurround HD sound, but sounded a little flat to me. It’s certainly crisp, but if you want real surround sound then you’re going to have to invest in a decent surround system, this is probably the same with even the higher end televisions in my opinion, nothing which is not actual surround sound should legitimately make any claims to be surround sound. That’s not a problem as such, the sound is fine, it’s just my personal dislike of companies making silly claims.

The Volume

Where the sound does excel though is that it manages to keep the volume constant throughout, If there’s one thing I hate about modern televisions, it’s that I can often be straining to hear what some mumbling actor is saying in a quiet movie, so I turn the volume up, getting the shock of a lifetime when a commercial break comes on and nearly deafens me, the Vizio M420NV avoids this by the in-built sound system adjusting the volume to keep it at the same rate, filtering out loud noise.

The Vizio M420NV, is a very decent TV for the money.

The Specifications

This includes the resolution of the pictures displayed on the screen as well as the ability of the T.V to conserve energy by reducing the consumption of energy. In order to effectively use Vizio e260mv the buyer has to purchase a source of HD programming, this can be easily bought from the various cable service providers.

The Vizio E420vl

The Vizio E420vl is a 42-inch entry level HDTV, but it still provides excellent picture quality. With a matte black finish, it will compliment your living room or bedroom nicely.

Vizio E420vl

Click Here To Get The Best Deal On Vizio E420vl

The side profile of the Vizio E420vl can look a little bulky, but it is slim compared to most TVs in its class. The stand on this TV does not swivel, so if you want to move the television you will have to do it manually.

The Vizio does not have an LED screen, or the Internet capabilities of some higher end televisions, but the 120Hz processor makes up for its shortcomings. The menu for the 120Hz processor allows you to set the dejudder on the picture from low, medium, and high.

Picture Control of the Vizio E420vl

If you are a tech savvy person that likes to adjust your TV, the Vizio has an advanced picture control option available to you. With this option, you can set the color temperature, but you cannot adjust the gamma settings on this TV. The contrast ratio on the Vizio E420vl is 100,000: 1, which means in darker scenes the black levels are a little bright at times. It does cause the picture to look somewhat washed. The color reproduction is good and the colors are accurate, but black can sometimes look blue in some scenes.

Viewing Angles of the Vizio E420vl

The off angle viewing is not too bad, but LCD TVs look better when you view them straight on. The Ambient lighting feature really comes in handy because the TV will automatically adjust the brightness. This is one of the best features because you don’t have to waste time fixing the brightness. When it is daytime it will dim the TV, and at night, the brightness will slightly increase. The Vizio E420vl has smooth motion to eliminate any tracers and ghosting when you are watching sports. This TV will last about 50,000 hours give or take, and the V-chip does a great job of blocking channels and programming not suitable for minors.

Sound Quality of the Vizio E420vl

The factory speakers have crisp sound, but you can purchase a sound bar to amplify the sound. Watching movies, the sound is good, but the bass is slightly muffled. The treble is very good, and there are many options in the menu to adjust the sound to your personal preference. The connectivity slots have all the basic connections such as HDMI inputs, component, and the RGB for computer connectivity. The only input it does not have is the S-Video, but most people will not use this anyway.

Overall Features of the Vizio E420vl

The strongest points about this TV are the ambient lighting, it is energy star approved, and the 120Hz feature is brilliant for fixing blurring. Some of the negatives is the black levels on this set is not as impressive as some of the high end TV’s. The Vizio is a good buy if you are not concerned about having the latest fads. While the Vizio E420vl may be lacking in some areas, for the most part it is a solid TV for the price.

Observing the Benefits of the LG LW9500 LCD HDTV

Many people have been talking about the LG LW9500LCD high definition television ever since it was first previewed in Las Vegas at a Consumer Electronics Show (CES) at the beginning of 2011.

LG LW9500

It stands at the top of LG’s premium television sets, as part of the LG Infinia LW9500 series. The Infinia series consists primarily of two sizes, the 55 inch (LG 55LW9500) or 60 inch (LG 60LW9500) models.

The LG LW9500 LCD HDTV

Before this new line was introduced, many customers were already big fans of LG LCD HDTV’s due to the high quality 1,080 pixel resolution screens that have been available even in the older LG LW7700 HDTV models. Where exactly were the upgrades made in this new LG Infinia TV line? Let’s take a closer look.

Features of the LG LW9500 LCD HDTV

The pixel resolution on the screen may have remained the same, but the frames per second ratio has increased dramatically. The older LG LW7700 HDTV for example, had a 240 frames per second processing speed, which was very fast and for average TV viewing produced satisfactory images. The newer “TruMotion” speed of LG was raised to 480 frames per second, DOUBLING the speed so that image blurs on your screen become virtually impossible. You can see the difference most clearly in the action sequences of movies for example, when you don’t want to miss any details. The higher speed also makes a big difference in 3D viewing, giving much more realistic and sharper details to the eye.

When the LG LW9500 HDTV was first released to the public last year, it had an active 3D TV glasses counterpart. Later in 2011, things changed and LG is now focusing more on developing passive 3D glasses technology instead. It was later explained that LG wants to fully expand their use of (FPR) Film Patterned Retarder technology, using passive glasses that have been polarized to be better for the health of your eyes and could prevent image overlaps in 3D viewing. Thereafter the LG LW9800 HDTV was released, and the line continues to evolve. It’s well worth mentioning that the active 3D glasses have double the resolution of most passive 3D glasses, and active glasses also display more pixels for sharper image clarity; therefore, many customers are still quite happy to have the original 3D active glasses technology in their television sets.

Other great features of the LG LW9500 LCD HDTV are its sophisticated ultra-slim bezel design, making for an exceptionally thin television set. The design is perfect for people who want their television to blend in with their rooms instead of standing out too much. This TV has a micro pixel control that allows for sensitive dimming of each LED block behind the screen, so you can really bring out the depth of every kind of image. Nano full LED technology means every picture appears significantly brighter and sharper than before. The magic motion remote control operates just like a computer mouse, for greater ease of use. This HDTV is also Wi-Fi enabled, so you can access content from any other personal digital device wirelessly and view it in full quality on this big screen.

Conclusion

Conclusively, the LG LW9500 LCD HDTV has lots to offer for those of us that crave a perfect quality image in all circumstances. Especially considering the anti-reflection panel of the screen that allows a perfect viewing experience without having to turn off the lights, the LG LW9500 LCD HDTV is definitely an elite HDTV’s.

The Sony Bravia KDL22PX300: Review of a Gaming HDTV

The Sony Bravia KDL22PX300is one of Sony’s unique HDTV releases in December 2010.

Sony Bravia KDL22PX300

Riding off the well-established line of Sony’s Bravia series HDTVs, the KDL22PX300 belongs to the smaller range of 22-inch TVs, and one of its most outstanding features is that it specially includes a PS2 as well.

This is in fact one of its most surprising features as well, since this is an industry-first to pack in a gaming console into a TV, and who better than Sony themselves to fully utilize their existing electronics technology by creating such a hybrid, combo device?

The fact that a PS2 has been built into this 22-inch BRAVIA TV does raise some interesting observations. The PS2 itself was Sony’s 2nd iteration to the ever-popular Playstation, which was released back in 2000. Succeeding the original PS1 of 1995, the PS2 was Sony’s mainstream game console until its successor the PS3 took over in 2006.

So basically with the PS2, it would be retro-gaming with hit titles between 2000-2006 such as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Gran Turismo 4, amongst a couple of others. Playing these classic games on TV is certainly a dandy and nostalgic feature to have, allowing retro gamers to relive some earlier gaming years with a 22-inch TV in the bedroom.

However, the fact that the Sony Bravia KDL22PX300 only includes a PS2 also means that one would just be reliving somewhat outdated technology with it. PS2 games are more than 5 years behind now, so looking at how gaming technology is developing today from contemporary gaming consoles like the PS3, Xbox, and Wii; all the way to more portable devices such as the iPad, we can safely say that this built-in PS2 is just going to have a somewhat limited niche appeal to retro gamers.

While the concept of building a gaming console into a TV is certainly remarkably creative and original of Sony, the fact that it’s only a PS2 and not a PS3 could be its main limiting factor.

Besides the built-in PS2 gaming console at its base, this 22-incher features HD 720p resolution, and has decent connectivity in the form of four HDMI ports, three USB ports, an Ethernet socket, VGA and component video ports, plus a built-in Freeview tuner. While you would not be getting Blu-ray quality, Full HD 1080p resolution on a telly of this size, HD-ready 720p is certainly good enough on its screen, and the PS2 also plays DVDs for movie-watching.

It is somewhat a pity that games on the PS2 would only appear in 480p standard definition, since they were not built to capitalize on HD 720p resolution that was not yet available during the PS2 era, and which this TV is now capable of providing.

At a price of £200 in the UK, this is a decent piece of innovative technology from Sony, though the Sony Bravia KDL22PX300 is not going to have hoards of today’s gamers queueing up just to get it. It does seem possible that Sony is experimenting with including their older PS2 technology in a TV, and possibly we might also see some other hybrid combos from them soon. Based on this idea, we could reasonably predict that Sony would make a much bigger impact on today’s market if for instance, they could pack in a PS3 into one of their larger 40+ inch BRAVIA TVs at a reasonable cost.

The Vizio XVT3D554SV HDTV Review

The Vizio XVT3D554SVis a 1080p LED TV with some tricks up its sleeve.

Vizio XVT3D554SV

Click Here To Get The Best Deal on Vizio XVT3D554SV

The appearance of Vizio XVT3D554SV at first glance is eye catching, but with further inspection, this TV has some real substance. The black bezel is very attractive; it gives the TV a stealthy look. I did a glare test on this television, and it passed with flying colors. The screen is not too reflective, so you can watch all of your shows uninterrupted.

3D Capabilities

This HDTV has 3D capabilities, but you will be required to wear special glasses. I must say the 3D on this TV was amazing. When you watch a movie, the colors are vivid, and rich with detail. This TV comes with four pairs of high quality 3D glasses, and not the old anaglyph (red-blue) ones either.

Weight

The weight of the TV is light, weighing in at 68 lbs without the stand. It makes it easy to wall-mount the television because it is so light. You can wall-mount this TV without much help, which is great for people that live alone. It weighs 76 lbs including the stand; if you prefer not to install it with the wall-mounts; you can sit it on a table.

Contrast

I only found one feature that I did not find useful. I thought the 480HZ refresh rate is not noticeable to the human eye. Some people can tell the difference, but I felt this feature was not necessary. I did notice the smart dimming feature was extremely useful in adjusting the picture quality. The LEDs in the television will turn off completely with the darker scenes, which allow you to get the deepest shades of black. It also will turn the LEDs on if here is a bright scene, so the shades of white are brighter, which gives you a better contrast.

Energy Efficient

You will save a little money on your energy bill because this LED TV is energy star certified. It only uses 160 watts of power on average, which is not bad for a larger size television. Most plasma TVs will run about 300-500 watts of power, so this set will conserve power. The Vizio XVT3D554SV HDTV has built in Wi-Fi to connect to the Internet easily. You can connect the TV to the Internet to stream movies, TV shows, pictures, and music.

Connectivity

It comes with all of the connectivity you would expect with a high end HDTV. With four HDMI inputs, two USB ports, composite, component, VGA, and an S-video input. The sound on the Vizio XVT3D554SV is not bad, but you will need to purchase external speakers if you want the full surround sound experience.

The Final Verdict

This television is backed with a one-year warranty, if you should have any problems with the TV, you can get it replaced. Overall, the Vizio XVT3D554SV is a decent TV for the price. I also enjoyed the contrast ratio because it made Blu-ray movies look that much better. I would recommend this television to anyone who loves to watch 3D movies, or if you are looking to purchase a new TV.

You may not give this HDTV the best style award but with the detailed and sharp picture, 240 Hz refresh rate, LED backlighting with local dimming, the Bluetooth remote control which had the full QWERTY keyboard, excellent black level performance, and a multitude of I/O connection, this 55 inch HDTV is very impressive.

Design

The cabinet design is improved over its older models but it is not as stylish as some other models, mainly because this HDTV emphasizes on quality performance.  Still, the 3 inch depth of the cabinet accommodates the backlighting that uses smart and local dimming to yield very dark blacks.

Feature

The 1 inch thick and 6.25 inches long remote has a QWERT keyboard along with 39 keys and four way arrow keys.  This would make tweeting or Facebook status update easier for you. You have nine preset picture modes to suit your preferences.  There are some advanced features like Real Cinema Mode, Film Mode, and Noise Reduction to produce better quality picture.

Performance

This HDTV produces deep blacks with 0.04 cd/m2 and high brightness with 461.32 cd/m2, this would ensure solid performance.  You can get good color accuracy and color fidelity with sharp image quality, even if you view from an extreme side angle.  The 1080p contents would look crisp and clear with quality shadow detail, though the noise reduction might not be as good as you have expected.

If you are worried about the electricity consumption and utility bill then this HDTV has an advantage over its competitors.  It consumes around 130 watts of power, whereas same time type of model, Sony Bravia KDL- 55HX800 consumes around 170 watts and Samsung LN 55C650 consumes around 180 watts.  So, this HDTV can save monthly utility bill.

Connectivity

If you like versatility and connectivity then this TV is loaded with many connectivity ports. This vizio xvt553sv has five HDMI ports unlike most LCD HDTV which has four ports.  For easy plug and play of thumb drives, there are three USB ports and these side mounted USB ports would give easy access to you.  Apart from that, it has usual A/V ports, VGA input, audio output, Ethernet port, and a TV cable jack. The built in WiFi and Bluetooth will give wireless connectivity to other supported devices such as the remote control.

If you want web service from this HDTV, the VIA-ready model offers a number of streaming movie channels and more than 35 web Video channels.  If you want to send a tweet or update your Facebook status while watching TV, it has social networking apps.  It can be great fun when you let your friends know that you are enjoying (or not enjoying) a movie through a tweet or status update from the TV. But for this, you need to make sure you do not have bandwidth constraints.

With loads of web applications, top grade LCD HDTV technology, wired and wireless connectivity, excellent HD quality picture, and most importantly with a reasonable price, the vizio xvt553sv is one of the best value high-end LCD HDTV in present market.

Shopping for LG 32ld400

Before buying a new LG 32ld400we can glance quickly at the history of LCD TVs.

LG 32LD400

Not many of us know that the first LCD & the LCD panel were built somewhere between 1964 to 1972 by a couple of American scientists called Mr. George H. Heilmeier & Mr. Westinghouse, thereby giving rise to a wonderful viewership experience that would follow in years to come.

Well Sharp Corporation of Japan went a step further and pioneered the first TFT LCD TV (14” model) somewhere around 1988. As years went by Plasma TV’s & LED TV’s developed and sold by various electronic majors and retailers have hogged the limelight to say the least.

Coming to a LCD HDTV, one would be spoiled for choice in terms of procuring one in the modern day age. We have an array of LCD HDTVs at our disposal by different manufacturers. Common aspects would be visible in terms of features, sizes, specs, standard megapixel ratios tailored according to ones need and not discounting the affordability factor with various discounts and freebies on offer too. All said and done Sharp pioneered the LCD TV revolution, Sony created a niche in society. The likes of LG & Samsung commercialized bulk of modern day quality LCD HDTV product sales and other players in the form of Phillips, Toshiba,  NEC & Lloyd followed suit in their own respective ways.

Here’s a little bit of advice on the technical aspect or for a first time buyer, picture resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels is a standard unlike a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels advertised occasionally. Talking about something known as Contrast Ratios & Pixel Response Rate please do stress on the 120H technology. Coming to LCD screens, matte finishes are a standard norm however modern day LCD HDTVs would sport glossy filters to boost contrast and color saturation levels.

Stressing on the core content or focal of the subject matter, the question arises when shopping for a new LCD HDTV which one would a consumer buy. With due respect to all manufacturers, could think of a couple of recommended and viable options. One particular product which comes to mind would be the “LG 32LD400 HDTV” which would appeal as compared to its predecessors and contemporaries. It probably rivals its nearest competitors in its range (Philips 32″ MDR series, Samsung Series 32″ 4 & 5 series, Panasonic TCL series, etc).

Remarkable picture quality on the “LG 32LD400 HDTV” would be revolve around its HD 1080p feature (1920 x 1080 megapixel) unlike a 1366 x 768 pixel product by other manufacturers in its class. It rivals a USB 2 port facility and an HDMI V 1.3 facility that helps you keep abreast of technology. When rated on a scale of 1 to 5 by concerned diligent experts, it scored a maximum rating of 4.3 thereby equaling its competitors on agendas of quality, ease of operation, features and value for money.

One does tend to do a bit of homework before buying a new product; aspects like market longevity, actual volume sales, network & distribution and after sales services would come into play. Based on these factors, the likes of Sony, LG & Samsung would come to the forefront. Another important aspect would be the retailer customer service involved when buying a new product, sharing knowledge, operation and technical expertise with the customer. Of course this would generally come about through word of mouth, reference or via experience whatever.

All said and done it would be unfair to single out a particular product or manufacturer for that matter. Therefore would advise one to do a bit of homework on a particular product, market study, reviews, etc before coming to a conclusion. However, LG 32LD400 is one product that you should definitely consider while planning to buy a new LCD TV.

This smart LCD has proprietary vizio internet applications, which will simplify a variety of common tasks.  You can listen to your favorite music, get news instantly, and even see what is the latest on Twitter!  In fact, the bluetooth remote has buttons for the most popular programs, so you can access Netflix, Rhapsody, Amazon Instant Video and Twitter with just the touch of a button.  Don’t worry if you want even more functions, as you can download many more apps right to the TV.  Finally, the remote has a full keypad as well, making typing simplified.  Also, you can use it as a universal remote too, so all your entertainment devices are controlled from a single unit.

Shopping for a LG 60pk540

My shopping experience with the LG 60pk540 has been admirable. Let me acquaint you with this HDTV and you can form your own opinions about it.

LG 60PK540

To begin with one could deliberate at length about modern day color television products in the form of LCDs, Plasma TVs and LED TVs. We are further spoiled for choice due to an array of quality products dished out by the likes of Sharp, LG, Samsung, Sony, Toshiba, Phillips, etc. As far as history or origin of HDTV goes, Plasma technology was researched somewhere around 1964. As time went by, household names like Sony and Philips pioneered production of Plasma TVs which were made available to the masses from the mid 1990s onwards.

Shopping for TV

Shopping for a Plasma TV could be an arduous task. Notwithstanding the fact that the basic customer does a bit of research himself before zeroing in on a particular model. A particular Plasma TV set offered by LG Electronics is their new model “LG 60pk540″ and it springs to mind for all the right reasons. Priced at a bargain of around $1000 for a start, prominent features for the same could be highlighted. Not taking a dig at any particular manufacturer as such, but most tend to come up with stereotyped information like  “Gorgeous & Stunning Pictures on Big Beautiful Screens”. Well, take a general look at all Plasma TVs and they would all appear to be the same in terms of picture quality.

Features of the LG 60PK540

A closer look at the LG 60PK540 for a couple of minutes, would get one’s eye twitching for a second two for all the good reasons nevertheless. A “True Slim” frame is a highlight of this product, creating better picture quality unlike its competitors and this probably is the major show stopper. Other notable specifications like resolution (1920×1080 pixels), aspect ratio (16:9), contrast ratio (3,000,000:1), signaling compatibility (1080p), 3 HDMI port facility remain in sync with other manufacturers. Experts or people who actually know a thing or two about Plasma TVs, have rated this LG 60PK540 model at a high of 4.7 out of a possible rating of 5.

On a personal level, further valuable inputs about this particular “LG 60PK540″ would revolve around processor speed, handling and operation. It comes packed with a 600Hz processor which supplements a better refreshment rate. Because of “True Slim” frame, it makes an ideal wall mounted item and looks more like a picture frame. Operation in terms of menu & control would be a tad better than the rest because of ease of use. Another remarkable feature is the “Intelligent Sensor”. This inbuilt sensor actually optimizes clarity of picture based on its surroundings (light, darkness) based on the AV mode selection.

Conclusion

Looking at commercial aspects, I stress once again that it would be a steal for a $1000 Plasma TV set. Talking about discounts, that would be subject to the retailer’s part of the story or the bargains that one can get his hands on. Stressing on after sales & services, LG Electronics have been long around and are proven manufacturers of repute in terms of multiple service networks & efficient customer service.  Lastly it would be dumb to criticize any electronic major, their products and especially the “LG 60PK54″” Plasma TV model. However, I will still advise you as a potential customer to do that extra bit of research when buying a new Plasma TV. And you can safely choose to have the “LG 60PK54″ Plasma TV in the list of your preferred choices.
